You sent me a salvia sample before xmas and I am only now getting around to
telling you how I got on. Apologies for the delay but things have been so
hectic.
I tried some of the leaves you sent over the xmas break. It probably wasn't
what you would call an ideal setting but since my other half has given up this
sort of thing it's the best I'm likely to get - we were sat in the lounge with
the tv on but the sound down. It took a couple of pipe fulls but then I was
gripped by it. It felt like someone had my head in a vice - not squeezing it
so that it gave me pain but it had pressure all round it and it was like my
head was held perfectly still. It was very intense - it was actually quite a
fleeting experience but pretty powerful. I was a bit wary of doing it again as
it was very sudden and all consuming. And it took several pretty harsh
lungfulls to get there. I decided a bigger pipe and better lighter was the
answer to get me there more efficiently. Anyway, all over xmas I looked out
for a new pipe but head shops are pretty rare round these parts so I had no
luck (didn't want to buy online just for a pipe - the postage would cost more
than the pipe).
So the leafs lay in my drawer for a while and I was too busy to get back and
give them another try. We went back to scotland for a brief visit a couple of
weeks ago and while there went out with an old friend. He said he'd heard
salvia was good and had got some 10x extract for himself for xmas and did I
want to help him try it - it seemed too much of a coincidence to refuse!
The setting was similar to before except the tv sound was on this time but
that seemed to make the room calmer and more normal. Anyway, this time I got
an effect with the first hit, using a pipe similar to my current one. Same
effect - I felt I was instantly gripped by a very powerful force. Quite
frightening as it was so powerful and sudden. A DVD was on ('Broadway Danny
Rose', a Woody Allen film) and although I tried not to pay any attention to it
I ended up genuinely believing that I was in the film and
started to worry about the fate of the protagonist (he's wanted by the mob).
There wasn't really much in the way of hallucinations. Anyway, it wore off
quite quickly (it wasn't a big hit I had) and after that I wasn't really sure
I wanted any more.
So that's how I left it. I realise that the situations I took salvia in were
not necessarily conducive to good 'head travel' but the days are gone when me
& the mrs would spend an evening tripping together. Many thanks for sending me
the sample but I don't feel I will be going on many more salvia trips I'm
afraid. There are so many horror stories on the net about bad experiences
that, even though I've never had a bad experience on any drug, I don't feel it
would be fair to put the mrs through it now. Magic mushrooms were perfect as
they come on quite slowly and are predictable (to a degree) whereas the salvia
was a sudden plunge into the unknown. Part of me says I've never had any
problems with such experiences before but another part says is it worth the
risk? Judging by your website (and others I'd visited) and my small experience
with it so far I'd say it was a pretty serious sort of endeavour, 'not a party
drug' as you say. I fear that part of my psyche may rise up and attack me.
So there you have it - thanks but no thanks.
