Tim Burchett (R-Knoxville) has moved the Senate to approve Senate Bill 3247 which makes Salvia divinorum A illegal for purposes of human consumption. <br> <br> Salvia is a plant which is imported from Mexico and which is used in landscaping. Of late, it has been promoted as a natural hallucinogen. The Senate unanimously approved the measure Thursday. <br> <br> Sen. Burchett stated, “We have enough problems with illegal drugs as it is without people promoting getting high from some glorified weed that’s been brought up from Mexico.
