I didn't see this broadcast. The first I knew about it was on
receiving a surge of emails after the show. Not that I can imagine this
would be the sort of program anyone would set the VHS for but I would love to
see a recording of it if anyone out there has one.
Anyway, C4's web-site carried the following info in the TV schedule
guide...
Salvia Divinorum, a
"mind-blowing drug" which has hallucinogenic properties similar to
those of LSD is growing in popularity in this country and is now being sold on
the Internet and even in shops with little or no controls. Dr David Bull will
be trying this legal hallucinogenic and he will join expert Dr Tim Kendall in
the studio to discuss...
Someone who saw it emailed me with the following...
They had their young reporter go out and buy some, then
smoke it in a pipe. Seemingly he felt the world turning upside down, and saw
beetles driving around instead of cars [...] R&J commented that it
was legal, while another guest, a psychologist, merely suggested that it
wouldn't be good for those under 18. I wouldn't say that they were commencing
a scare campaign, more just acting on a curiosity.
